FLSA Status: Exempt

Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (FLEXIBLE)

 

Purpose

The division of Talent and Outcomes maintains an organizational commitment to the success of students, faculty and staff. The Data Analyst has the responsibility of supporting all program data systems and their end users. This person will help maintain and train staff on the use of the student information system and work towards producing more efficient data models and reporting tools for staff and internal teams. This position will collaboratively build reports to monitor the performance of our systems and procedures. The analyst operates with the ultimate objective to empower staff to use data for continuous improvement of program and organizational performance, while also supporting the development of data-driven decision-making across the organization.

 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS or higher degree
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of related experience and/or training
  •  Exemplary performance in the access, management and maintenance of TNS student information systems, operated through QuickBase (required)
  • Ability to comprehend complex instructions, draft correspondence and reports
  • Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to staff members
  • Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations and functions
  • Advanced familiarity with Excel (or some statistical programming language)
  • Effective project leadership—dependability, task and time management, feedback cycles

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage systems for the collection, reporting, and use of data in school’s student information system—QuickBase
  • Manage school’s accountability data submission (DC PCSB’s Performance Management Framework and Charter Goals) and provide internal stakeholders with preliminary results
  • Develop and execute reports and dashboards with informative metrics and key performance indicators for Management Team and other stakeholders
  • Provide support to the Operations Division, as well as the Instructional Leadership Team—including school leadership, instructional coaches, and assessment colleagues—to ensure accurate measurement and delivery of interim assessments and enrollment data;
  • Collaborate with staff on interpreting data and using it to improve student achievement
  • Troubleshoot issues staff have with student related data
  • Respond to internal and external data requests
  •  Create and maintain data management standards and policies
  • Design and analyze internal survey instruments, including Survey Monkey
  • Identify and develop new strategic opportunities, platforms and initiatives that will enhance our school or improve student achievement
  •  Keep abreast of emerging data management, educational, and technological developments, and how they could apply to the school
  • Provides support for pilot initiatives including the utilization of data dashboards and other resources to articulate impact
